During my meeting with Mehnaz, we have mainly discussed the parts that I should be focusing on in improving the efficiency of the model. Especially the collection of the lids and how will it be done. Robot arm? Worker?

Furthermore, we spent time fixing the errors that I had with my model on NX.

After I have coded and got the 3 stations working separately, I tried to join the 3 stations together and connect them to different PLCs to test if they will be working properly. Contrary to what I expected, there were several faults in the process, as shown in the video below.

Although the model was not working as expected, I was able to extract some data from the process.

• Takes 5 to 6 seconds for a workpiece to go from distribution station to pick and place one.

• Takes 7 to 8 seconds for the workpiece to pass through the pick and place station.

• Takes 3.5 to 4 seconds for the lid to be placed on the workpiece.

• Takes 8 to 9 seconds for the workpiece to go through the sorting station

Apart from the physical model, I was manipulating with Plant Simulation and tested techniques to extract data from the model. These techniques were using chartt, Sankey Diagram, Bottleneck Analyzer, andby using the normal statistics report from the model. As shown below, this is the the Plantsim model I used to test out different techniques.
