Outcomes of Meeting (15/01)

On the 15th of January, I had my first in-person meeting with my primary supervisor, Mehnaz Hamilton. This session served as a valuable opportunity to review my progress and outline objectives for the forthcoming week. The key takeaways from our discussion include:

1. Insights into MPS and CP Machines: We delved into a comprehensive exploration of both Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling (MPS) and Computerized Production (CP) machines, gaining valuable insights that allowed me to make a decision on which machine to use for this project.

2. Weekly Objectives: Strategic planning for the upcoming week involved setting clear objectives. This includes the installation of plant simulation software and the initiation of learning essential basics from Siemens' resources available on their website.

3. Extended Background Research: This involves me studying production lines in factories across the UK, understanding methods employed for efficiency improvement, and consulting relevant journals, such as those available on platforms like Amazon.

4. Connecting Past Work to Our MPS System: During our recent discussion, a crucial tip emerged: the importance of finding ways to connect previous works with the current MPS system. This step is essential for enabling me to relate real-world tasks performed in actual manufacturing factories to our MPS system, fostering a seamless and effective integration process.

5. Transparency: To foster effective collaboration, a link to my blog and literature review will be provided to Mehnaz. This facilitates a streamlined communication channel for ongoing developments.

6. Blog Subtitle: A brief yet informative subtitle will be added to the blog, providing readers with a snapshot of the project's essence and objectives. This addition aims to succinctly convey the project's focus and significance.
