Over the past few days, my focus has been on coding the various stations of the MPS System. However, I've encountered technical challenges in establishing a connection between my TIA Portal and PLCSIM, therefore I continued learning more about plant simulation.
Having taken the time to watch specific Plant Simulation tutorials, recommended by my supervisor from the previous meeting, the following are the insights gained from Video 6 - 'Worker Carrying Parts between Workplaces' and Video 15 - 'Using the ExperimentManager.'
1. Video 6: Worker Carrying Parts between Workplaces
This tutorial provided guidance on modeling workers transporting parts between different stations within a simulated plant. The tutorial examples gave me a clear understanding of optimizing workflows and improving overall efficiency in the simulated environment. It’s a good resource for optimizing production lines.
2. Video 15: Using the ExperimentManager
In the 15th video, 'Using the ExperimentManager,' I learned how to execute multiple experiments with modified random numbers. The tutorial demonstrated systematic experiment management and highlighted the significance of analyzing diverse factors. The ExperimentManager proved to be a valuable skill, offering insights into enhancing the overall efficiency of the system.
At my supervisor's suggestion to watch Tecnomatix Plant Simulation videos, I did a bit of searching on different sites. I found out that these videos are just the same as the ones already included in the Plant Simulation software tutorials.
